John Cena as Captain America? Wrestler's post has fans dreaming

Gambar
What's up with that clawed-up shield, Cena? John Cena as Captain America? Some of his fans think that's a star-spangled idea. On Sunday, the wrestler and actor posted a mysterious image to his Instagram account that started fans buzzing. It's a picture of Captain America's shield with five scratches (claw marks?) in it. Cena didn't caption or explain the photo, which makes sense considering he says right in the biography area of his Instagram page that he won't explain images he posts. It reads: "These images will be posted without explanation, for your interpretation. Enjoy." The role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be up for grabs soon, as statements from Chris Evans, who has played the role in recent movies, led many to believe he's done as Steve Rogers . (Evans said a  recent farewell-sounding tweet  wasn't meant as a spoiler.) Representatives for Cena and Disney did not immediately respond to a request

Apple hints at lackluster holiday as iPhone sales disappoint

Gambar
Apple may be grappling with a case of iPhone fatigue -- but it's still getting people to shell out more money for the phones they do buy.  The Cupertino, California, company on Thursday said it didn't sell as many iPhones as analysts expected, and it projected lackluster revenue results for the December quarter. Apple also said it  would no longer detail unit sales  of its major devices, a reversal from its strategy since first introducing the products. Apple shares dropped about 4 percent on the results and then declined further -- more than 7 percent -- during the company's earnings call after Apple said it would change its reporting structure. The stock recently tumbled 6.7 percent to $207.30 in after-hours trading.  Apple on Thursday said it sold 46.9 million iPhones in the fiscal fourth quarter that ended Sept. 29, about flat with the 46.7 million sold last year. Analysts expected Apple to sell 47.6 million iPhones, according to Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconag

Google Doodle honors Day of the Dead with its own altar

El Dia de los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, is an ancient holiday that celebrates death and loved ones who've passed on. Google  on Thursday is joining the holiday, observed each year on Nov. 2, with its own Doodle altar to the dead. The celebration traditionally features gatherings in which families pray and remember relatives and friends who have died and help them with their spiritual journey. Rather than mournful events, the holiday celebrates death as a part of the cycle of life, thereby dispelling fear of dying. The holiday also often serves as a source of comfort and community. Those who observe the holiday adorn their homes and cemeteries with colorful  ofrendas,  or altars, surrounded by food such as  pan de muertos  (bread of dead) and pictures and mementos of deceased loved ones. Altars are commonly decorated with orange Mexican marigolds, sugar skulls and burning candles. El Dia de los Muertos traces its roots to the Aztec empire, but the holiday has spread

Raiders vs. 49ers final score, takeaways: Jon Gruden's nightmare continues as Nick Mullens thrashes Oakland

Gambar
It took 59 years, but the  Raiders  might have finally hit rock bottom as a franchise.  In a 2018 season that's already been a nightmare for the Raiders, things officially turned into an unmitigated disaster on Thursday as Oakland got blown out of Levi's Stadium in a 34-3 loss to the  49ers .  Even though the Raiders have been bad this season, this was a game they were supposed to be able to win. Not only were they playing a 1-7 49ers team (now 2-7), but they were going up against a second-year quarterback who was making the first start of his  NFL  career. Oh, and the game was being played just 40 miles from Oakland, which meant that roughly half the people in the stadium were there to cheer for the Raiders.  It also meant that roughly half the stadium went home depressed after another embarrassing outing from a team that looks like it's given up on Jon Gruden. It's not easy to lose the locker room just nine weeks into your first season, but it's starting

Bayern Munich accused of racism over Halloween party photo

Gambar
Germany's most successful football club Bayern Munich is facing a barrage of criticism after it posted a photo on its Twitter account of a player's Halloween party. In the photo, one player appears to be wearing traditional Arab attire and is holding a box that looks like a package bomb, with caution stickers and wires coming out of it.  The Bundesliga club quickly deleted the photo, but not before a number of Twitter users had accused Bayern of racism, with one saying: "Seriously?... someone dressed up as BOMBER(?)".
